About Our Business

WORKLINX History

The WORKLINX Business System Programme was conceived by Malcolm Dennis in 1999. WORKLINX is based on Malcolm’s forty plus years of experience with business and quality systems together with his extensive gathering of anecdotal data directly from world-famous companies. Malcolm’s work history includes corporate and SME employment before opening his first business in 1977, an advertising agency in Auckland. Malcolm has been gaining first-hand experience as a business owner/operator and employer ever since.

Malcolm’s career also includes wide-ranging publishing credits starting with the New Zealand Small Business Letter – 1980 to 1992. His book Business Planning Demystified quickly sold out. Since 1985 he’s written the Veterinary Business Letter which is sponsored by Merial New Zealand. With over 200 issues published it is read by veterinarians throughout the country every month. Malcolm’s personal library contains hundreds of books about successful business practices and procedures.

In 1997 Malcolm was able to sell a business thanks to an associated manual he had written. Malcolm realised then that with the manual; the business had real value. This confirmed his theory that documentation is a very important, tangible asset for any business.

Malcolm has been strongly influenced by service and quality systems as a result of his first-hand work with management teams. He’s traveled extensively to attend stimulating lectures and numerous conferences.

Looking for a lifestyle change, Malcolm moved from Auckland to Rotorua. He continued his writing and business consulting work and also found time to formulate the WORKLINX concept.

To bring WORKLINX to life, Malcolm contracted longtime associate Jim Creak of JACSoft Programming, Ltd. Jim has worked with Malcolm in a joint venture to write the software code and develop the computer functionality of the WORKLINX Workflow Map. This positive synergy cultivates the process of discovery, development and continuous improvements and upgrades to the WORKLINX Programme.

Malcolm’s vision is now reality with successful implementation of the WORKLINX Programme in a wide range of New Zealand businesses with many more to come.
